Time Buddy Review and Giveaway

As parents we know how much smoother our kid's days go when they have a routine, we also know how hard it is to set or stick to one.  Routines help our kids learn about time management.  Time Buddy is an amazing new product that will help your child stick with their daily routines.
At our house, we have problems with bedtime.  It seems like every evening I'm repeating myself over and over...bathtime, pajamas, brush your teeth...brush your teeth....BRUSH YOUR TEETH!  With Time Buddy you can customize the activities your child does with stickers.  You can use as many or as few as you want.  My kids now look foreward to "what is next" on their Time Buddy.  It really makes daily routines fun and exciting, plus its cute and colorful.
Your child will no longer have to ask you if its time for this or when do we do that, because it will all be on their Time Buddy.  And as part of the customization process, children have the ability to record their own name in a factory programmed message. My son loves that part.  He can press the button and hear his Time Buddy say his name.  Time Buddy is new to the market but has already won awards

Time Buddy was awarded the Seal of Approval for 2010 by the National Parenting Association

What the troop has been up to...

As you may (or may not) know, I am a Girl Scout Troop leader.  I have this amazing troop, with 19 amazing girls!  Last Monday we took a little field trip.  One of the girls in my troop owns a pony which she keeps at a horse ranch here in town.  Her mom thought it would be fun to share "Peanut" (the pony) with the troop.  What little girl doesn't dream of having her own pony!!!  The troop was so excited when they found out where we were going.  The little girl's mom gave us so much incredible information on caring for horses.  Each of the girls got a chance to brush and ride Peanut, then the little girl that owns the horse gave us a little riding demonstration.  It was so much fun!
Oh my! Isn't Peanut the cutest little thing you have ever seen!

Lexi could have stayed there with him all night!

Any troop that has a chance to visit a horse ranch should do so!  The girls loved it, some of them have never even been that close to a horse.

These are the CUTEST!

I just got these for my kids from CSN Stores and they are really the cutest little monster puppets EVER!
I was browsing through the toy categories and ran into these little cutie pies!  They have a whole section of puppets at CSN, and my goal now is to get a whole bunch more!  Maybe I will ask my husband to build them a little theatre so they can do puppet shows.  We used to do that with sock puppets but these guys will make it twice as fun!  They're super soft and what are the chances they came in my kids favorite colors!  Alexis loves light blue and Maddox is a green kinda guy.  They remind me of the Muppet Show!

T is fo Tiger

My daughter's school mascot is the Tiger, they are the Tilton Tigers.  They have spirit days at their school where they are supposed to wear either the clothing you can buy that has the school mascot on it, or the school colors which are blue and white.  The official Tilton clothing is rather expensive ($20 for a sweatshirt), and I know how my daughter loves losing things like sweatshirts, so I have a hard time forking out that much for one article of clothing.  I decided to make her a sweatshirt.
Apparently no one around here sells blue sweatshirts, so I got a navy one at Wal Mart for $5, a 1/2 yard of white tiger striped fabric for $1 and some blue thread for another $1.  I cut out a large letter T pattern out of paper.

I ironed on fabric adhesive to the back of the tiger fabric so I would not have to pin the t before I sewed it on, it also makes it easier to cut out your design and stops the fabric from fraying.

Peel the paper off the back of the cut out and iron on your design to the sweatshirt, this held pretty well and was so much easier than dealing with pins.  I also washed the fabric and sweatshirt before I started this project so prevent any shrinking or color bleeding once it was put together.

The just stich around and there ya have it.  I used a bright blue thread to emphasize the school colors.

Nacho Mama Winner

The winner of the Nacho Mama Giveaway is.....

Congrats Marci, going to send you an email right now!

The Rock Tumbler

My daughter got a rock tumbler for her birthday.  She has been wanting one for quite some time, and bringing home all kings of rocks to fill it with.  My mom finally bought her one and this thing is pretty cool.  Its super easy to set up and comes with rocks.  The thing is quite noisy though so we had to set it up in our basement.  It has to run for over a week with the different grains of "sand" in it, so that was the downfall....not good if your kid is not patient.
How pretty are all these rocks!

The little clear ones are her favorites

It came with pieces to make your own rock jewelry, like rings and a necklace

Wish it didn't take so long for the rocks to get done.  After we got finished with the tumbling, I realized we forgot to do the step 3 powder, which would have added at least 2 more days to the tumble time.

STRIDE Everyday Review and Giveaway

According to research most women will encounter some sort of small leaks once in a while, weather it is sneezing, coughing, laughing or running.  STRIDE Everyday has unveiled the first-ever underwear collection with patented technology built into the panty’s liner to offer discreet protection.  They are machine washable panties with a built in liner.  The liner is breathable, leak proof and designed to absorb up to an ounce of moisture  to protect you from any "accidents".

I was really curious how these look and feel.  There are 5 different styles to choose from and I chose the sport bikini.  The ones I received were white with a black flower pattern.  I was pleasantly surprised at how soft the fabric was.  They are stretchy and very comfortable to wear.  The built in pantyliner is very soft and not at all bulky or uncomfortable.  This was so much more comfortable to wear that disposable pantyliners.   I washed them and they came out of the wash undamaged.   STRIDE Everyday panties are also your green solution to wearing pantyliners.  They help reduce the billions of disposable pads and pantyliners sent to landfill every year as well as save you money.

You can purchase your own STRIDE panties by visiting their website at http://www.strideeveryday.com/ .  Also, you can enjoy a discount by receiving fre shipping through November 30th, 2010 by entering this promo code  SAHM007.
