Snazzy Lites review and Giveaway

During Breast Cancer awareness month, it seems like everyone here in town puts a pink streak in their hair (I think the salon was donating the proceeds but don't quote me on that).  My daughter's friends also had pink streaks in their hair and of course she asked me if she could as well.  I told her that as long as the stuff washed out I would be ok with it.  Well she was at her friend's house and the friend's mom had done her girls' hair herself and had dye left over.  My daughter begged me to let her do it and after confirming with the mom that it was a wash out, I agreed.  Well my daughter's hair is brown and the dye did not show up....I will only tell you that this fiasco ended in tears.  I felt that she was too young to bleach the streak of hair before dying it pink, she of course argued that she is seven and she is old enough....I won.  I recently got some Snazzy Lites, fun, fast, non-damaging clip-in hair color streaks for review, and my daughter finally got to have a color streak in her hair without having to dye it.  Snazzy Lites come in many colors as well as blonde, and are made from 100% human hair so they can be curled, flat ironed and gently washed with shampoo just like your own hair.

The clips are awesome and don't slip out of your hair, even my daughter's fine hair.  They're prefect for cheerleading, wearing team colors for sporting events, proms, special events or even just to add some fun to everyday hairstyles.  Snazzy Lites colored hair extensions look so realistic, I had parents ask me if I had dyed my daughter's hair, she even fooled her friends.  This is a wonterful alternative to dying for adults as well as kids and teens and with so many color choices, everyone can wear them.

Snazzy Lites has offered to send one of my readers 3 hair extensions in the colors of their choice.  Want to win?  Here is how to enter:

Another crazy parenting moment....

My kids collect these little things called Gogos Crazybones.  They're little plastic characters that come in a pack of three and are collectible like Pokemon cards.  My son's obsessed with playing battle with them, which is when you pick ten Gogos each and line them up opposite of each other on the coffee table, then slide one of your guys to knock down the opponents guys.
This is what they look like, and they're small, maybe an inch and a half in height.

My son has a favorite Gogo, Tori (his name in the collection) but my son named him Bommy.
He looks like this but is grey instead of brown.

So after an intense game of Battle, we lost Bommy.  I looked everywhere....EVERYWHERE.  I normally keep track of his whereabouts because we don't have an extra one in case this one got lost, well he was lost.  So I was panicking, I called my husband and he hadn't seen Bommy, I told him I was ready to go to the store and buy all the packets of Gogos until I found the darn grey Bommy.  So I did what any sane parent would do, checked ebay.  Now Gogos are super popular, in the UK, but here in the States (until very recently) they were only sold at a few stores, here by us just Walgreens.  They sell for $1.99 a pack and each back has 3 Gogos, but you can't see which ones you are buying, just like any collector cards.  I found one on ebay, a grey one, just one....and I bought him :)  With shipping he cost $4.00, money well spent.  So after waiting on pins and needles for the mail for about 5 days, my husband found my son's original Bommy under a piece of furniture THAT I LOOKED UNDER.  That same day, the new Bommy came in the mail, so I did what any sane parent would do, I put him away in case the original one got lost again.  That weekend the kids stayed the night at my in-laws, my son got some Gogos from Grandma and Grandpa....guess what he got....another Bommy, this time the brown one....GO FIGURE!

Vedette Shapewear Review and Giveaway (Two Winners)

As I get a little older (I hate admitting that) I notice more things sagging and bulging that never have before.  Its even worse when you have to dress up in something nice and form fitting, and there it is, the belly bulge or those saddle bags....ugh.  Vedette is a company that really understands REAL women and all of our little problem areas.  Their goal is to provide you with high-quality shapewear garments that help you achieve a beautiful silhouette and at the same time make you feel comfortable.  They have been in the business of creating beautiful shapewear for over 30 years and now sell retail and wholesale in North America, Europe, South America and Central America.  They have so many different styles for just about every body type, you can even search the site by "problem area".

What I love about this company is their styles.  I'm not that old yet and I really would rather not wear shaping wear that looks like it should go on my grandma.  They have everything from simple to sexy, and yes they can even make shaping wear look sexy.   So weather your booty needs some lifting or your tummy needs some tucking, they have what you need.  The body suits have hook closures between the legs for bathroom convenience and all of their products are made of the best quality materials.

The People of Vedette have graciously offered to do some giveaways for my readers, I will giveaway two of the items now and I will have three more to offer in June for Blog Bash 2011 which is June 22-24 and will have about 200 blogs participating.  The two items for giveaway are the following....and please when entering, specify which item #1 or #2 you are entering for:

I Hosted a Nutella Party

I have been a huge Nutella fan for many years, I remember eating it when I was in High School (ok, it wasn't THAT long ago).  I know that many people have not heard of it, or have heard of it but haven't tried it.  So what is this Nutella I speak of, well it is a hazelnut-with-hint-of-chocolate spread, a.k.a. heaven in a jar!  Some of the people that were here for the party had no idea what they could put this yummy spread on.  Nutella is very versatile and yummy on so many different things.  At the party we tried it on waffles (which is my personal favorite, as well as my daughters).  Just toast two waffles and spread on some Nutella, put together like a sandwich and enjoy.
And if you are a peanut butter lover then you have to try this, toast some bread and spread on Nutella and then Peanut Butter, YUM!  I think most of the people enjoyed this one the best.
Nutella does not contain any hydrogenated oil or trans fat and is low in sodium compared to most peanut butters and of course it tastes great.  It also contains no artificial colors or preservatives, and has absolutely no peanuts or peanut ingredients, nor does it come in contact with peanuts during manufacturing.  It also tastes amazing with fresh fruit such as strawberries and blueberries.

Each guest got to enjoy some yummy breakfast foods with Nutella and also take home a goody bag complete with a tumbler, spreader, sample of Nutella, a coupon, two recipe cards and an information sheet.

Some of the mom's were surprised that you could use something so yummy as part of a healthy breakfast, and even get your kids to eat whole wheat toast simply by adding a little Nutella!

Kakadu Pet Slicker Brush Review and Giveaway

I am the proud owner of two very hairy dogs, an Australian Shepherd and a Bernese Mountain Dog.  They both shed A LOT and need regular brushing.  I just tried a really great dog brush called the Kakadu Pet Slicker Brush.  This brush features a one touch, press and release cleaning mechanism for super easy hair removal.

The Slicker brush is designed to get deep into the pets coat to remove mats, tangles and dead hair.  It also has an anti-slip, easy grip handle for comfort and control. It is perfect for every day use on cats and small to large dog breeds.  My Bernese Mountain Dog has always enjoyed grooming, but my little Aussie is a little more sensitive and gets nevous that I'm going to hurt her.  The Slicker is gentle enough that she has started liking being brushed also.

This brush comes in 3 sizes, which are suitable for cats and small to large dog breeds. The handle is a combination of plastic and rubber and the pins are made of stainless steel.
You can win a Slicker brush of your own, here is how:

Kids Konserve Review and Giveaway

Earth Day is just around the corner, and at our house we always find a way to make it special.  Last year even our Girl Scout Troop celebrated by planting baby trees donated to us by a tree farm.  When I think about teaching our kids about conserving and recycling, I think that the best way is by teaching them to start with the things they use every day.  School lunches (brought from home and bought from the school) generate tons of waste every day.  Just think about all those baggies, styrofoam trays, juice containers, plastic silverware, napkins, plastic wrap and so on.  Kids Konserve offers a solution, the waste free lunch kits and other re-usable products.

Kids Konserve offers many styles and products for all your lunch needs, from large containers to small leak proof snack containers, lunch totes and custom bottles.  Kids Konserve empowers kids and parents to do their part in saving the environment. They challenge families to cut down on the waste created by packing lunches/snacks, while teaching about the importance of reuse. The company was sparked by the amount of trash that was coming home from our kid's lunch.

How is Kids Konserve different from other waste-free lunch systems?
Non-Toxic: Our complete line of reusable waste-free lunch packing products are made from the safest, non-leaching, non-toxic, BPA, PVC, phthalate, and lead-free materials! That is a mouthful, but true! Lead, BPA, PVC, and phthalates are substances that are known to be harmful to our bodies with repeated exposure.

Stainless Steel: We offer a wide range of 304 food grade stainless steel solutions as it is proven to be the safest material to house food in.

Product Line: Our products are what we call ‘eco-chic’, and graphically appealing to kids and adults alike. Kids Konserve Waste-free Lunch kits are designed to be fun, stylish, and easy for kids to use, while offering maximum convenience and flexibility for parents. Our reusable product line gives you convenience of coordinated lunch kit components that may be used together in our Waste-free Lunch Kit or in a lunch box of your choice. All with the underlying aim of creating a Zero Waste Lunch.

In honor of Earth Day, Kids Konserve is giving all of my readers 20% off of their purchase on the Kids Konserve website by using the code "forearth".  One of my readers will also win this awesome Snak Pak

Contains: cotton reusable drawstring Bag, cotton napkin, round leak-proof 304 food grade stainless steel container and food kozy the reusable food wrap!
