What to do With All Those Old T-Shirts? Project Repat has the Answer! @ProjectRepat

You fold them up and stack them away, all those t-shirts from sports, camps and concerts....but why just pile them up when you can give them new life!  T-shirt quilts are an amazing way to relive those favorite memories every day and keep you warm and cozy.  Although I know how to sew, I do not have the time for another project, fortunately for me Project Repat can do all the work for me.

The process is super simple, you just go to their website and choose the size of quilt you want.  You can also choose the color of the backing, and they can even make quilts out of baby clothes!  Purchase the quilt size that you want and they will email you some specific instructions on what size shirt panels to send.  We did standard 12x12 panels but we did not have to cut them to size ourselves.  All we had to do is cut the shirts apart (front and back) and mail the sides that we wanted included.  You can pretty much send them anything from sweatshirts to jerseys and even button ups, they can cut up and sew just about anything.

I sent in a pile of my daughters shirts and jerseys from various sports that she participated in.  We ordered the lap quilt which consists of 16 panels.  I just put the cut shirts in a big envelope and dropped it in the mail.  I expected to have to wait quite some time for my quilt to come in, but the turnaround was pretty quick.  My daughter LOVES her new quilt.  She uses it all the time and it's the perfect size to snuggle with on the couch and in bed.

And there will be a PARTY!

The White Sox invite you to celebrate your favorite lefty's birthday at the ballpark with specially priced tickets, an on-field parade, and a special T-shirt! The first 1,300 kids to purchase tickets will have a chance to participate in the on-field Southpaw Parade.  The parade starts at approximately 5:15 p.m. and all participants' family/friends are encouraged to join (weather permitting). Must have parade pass to enter parade.

In celebration of Southpaw’s 11th birthday, the White Sox Wives and White Sox Volunteer Corps will host Southpaw’s Birthday Toy Drive. Fans are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to drop-off locations at any gate at U.S. Cellular Field. All donated toys will be given to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Families from Ronald McDonald House also will be hosted in a suite during the game to celebrate Southpaw’s birthday. Southpaw will be joined by Chicago Bulls, Chicago Sky, Chicago Bears, Northwestern University and DePaul University mascots.
