I have to admit that fantasy books are one of my top two favorites to read. I love Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Lord of the Rings. I recently read a book called the Magic Warble by Victoria Simcox. This book really took all my favorite parts of many fantasy books and bundled them up into one amazing read. This book is geared toward a young adult audience (tweens, teens) but it is also great for adults that enjoy this genre. The story is of a young girl named Kristina that has a hard time fitting in. She receives a gift from her teacher that takes her on a magical journey to a strange land called Bernovem. Kristina meets many interesting creatures along the way including fairies, dwarfs, gnomes and talking animals. Even her pet rat starts talking when he turns up in Bernovem. Kristina soon discovers that the reason that she is there is because she is the "chosen one" and is there to save the magical land from the evil Queen Sentiz and her army of zelbocks. The kids that pick on her at school are also taken to Bernovem and experience their own adventure after meeting the evil queen. This is a classic story of good vs. evil and the strength and courage of one unlikely hero. This book is well written yet easy enough for younger readers. You will definitely want to keep reading once you start, to find out how Kristinas journey ends.
