While I was away...

If you noticed that I have been a little scarce lately, it is for two reasons, you read my blog :) and because I have been job hunting. Yes, I know, "stay at home mom", but times are changing and work in the construction field is not as abundant as it used to be. So this mama has to step it up and make some extra money. Let me tell you, for someone that has been at home raising kids for some time, options are very limited. I have been sending my resume out left and right and so far only one bite, a minimum wage bite...20 miles away at $3.15 a gallon for gas...that equals not much in my pocket. So back to the drawing board. But don't worry my darlings, I have not forgotten about you, I will continue to post, post, post. Oh and also its cookie season for my Girl Scouts so that adds a little more chaos to the mix. I would appreciate any ideas any of you may have for something I can do from home other than fill out surveys, let me know what you are doing to stay afloat in this economic crisis.

try finding someone in your neighborhood that could use a full time babysitter. all it would take is one family with two kids. :) i charge $26 per day per kid (i give siblings a discount). you can make some money; it's tax deductible if you earn enough and want to claim it. a lot of times you'll either end up with a loss or break even around tax time. additional advice is to have a contract. saves you lots of headaches.
